Manhattanhenge 2011

I was walking through my new neighborhood when all of a sudden I noticed a bunch of people standing in the middle of the street snapping pictures.  I turned and looked.  The sun was red (my favorite color).  It was a gorgeous shade of red.  I originally thought it was a red moon, but once I arrived home my roommate asked if I saw “Manhattanhenge.”  Was that the red moon?  Nope, it’s the sun.  I tried to take pictures of the red sun but it didn’t show well on my camera phone.  Oh well, there is still one more this year.  I’ll get the real camera out for that one.
