Good News – Huffington Post Here I Come

I moved to NYC to chase my dream of becoming a writer and published author. It has been three years since my arrival and things began to look dim.

Thursday, a friend read my Advice to My Younger Self post and emailed that I should contact Huffington Post. She met an executive at a seminar and gave me the email address. There was hesitation on my part. For months, I had pitched articles to various publications without success. However, my dad’s words prevailed, “The only thing that beats a failure is a try.”  I crafted an email and attached some writing samples and sent it off around lunch. As I walked home from work, I noticed a reply in my inbox. I thought to myself, “How rude to reject me the same day!” I decided not to open the email, but inadvertently did so trying to shut off my phone. To my surprise and delight, the response read: Hi Ronda –   We’d be happy to invite you to blog for HuffPost.

I am honored, humbled, and grateful. In addition to that wonderful news, I received my first wedding order for my Auntie Ronda’s Snack Mix. I came to NYC to be a writer and it introduced me to my inner entrepreneur as a bonus.

Thank you to my readers, family, and friends that have encouraged me throughout my journey. Please show your support by liking Ronda-isms on Facebook and following on Twitter. They will announce my first post as a Huffington Post blogger (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ronda-lee/).
