#SandraBland

I have been silent because my hope and faith in humanity is fading.‪#‎SandraBland‬ has broken me to silence. As a black woman, we endure so much. We’re expected to be the backbone of the family and strong black woman, yet even some of our men degrade us. We’re the first line of defense when one of our men or boys are violated by the police, yet where are the men that “respect and protect the black woman.” I am not a thot. I am a woman phenomenally. To all black women, you are not ratchet or a thot. That is not your legacy. We are Dorothy Dandridge, Josephine Baker, Lena Horne, Angela Davis, Rosa Parks, Ida B Wells, Maya Angelou, and Michelle Obama. You are a phenomenal woman. Thank you for my sistas of all colors that have supported and loved me through thick and thin. ‪#‎blackgirlsrock‬

Prayers to Lafayette LA – this is becoming too commonplace. Shame on America.
