Power of Forgiveness: Central Park Five

The story of the Central Park Five is an example of the worst miscarriages of justice – innocent citizens convicted. Five teenagers were falsely accused, demonized, and convicted of rape and assault. They served time in prison until DNA evidence proved their innocence. In spite of scientific proof, some still claim they are guilty of “something.”

Last weekend, three of the Central Park Five attended Joe Assadourian’s off Broadway performance of The Bullpen. Afterwards, they participated in a panel discussion about their harrowing experience of being wrongfully imprisoned. Although the media and those involved in putting them behind bars never apologized for their actions, the Central Park Five exuded forgiveness. For more of the panel discussion, please see my latest article on The Huffington Post.
