Daddy’s Girl

I am my father’s daughter. Father’s Day is quickly approaching and it is bittersweet. My mom used to make a big to-do over Father’s Day. My dad was already spoiled, but on this day he was treated even more kingly. My dad is no longer with us.

In talking to friends and observing men, I marvel at how many fathers fail to realize the importance of their relationship with their daughters. Fathers are the first male relationship for their daughters and for good or bad, they set the tone for their daughters’ future male relationships.

My latest article deals with this father-daughter dynamic.
